Top 5 TV Series To Watch

A quick little run down of all the shows I've been binging on recently

I really regret paying for a tv licence this year as for me its all about Netflix. I'm a huge fan of TV or at least TV series and I've recently owned up to the fact that its the best way for me to unwind (personally), I know its bad for you and nothing beats reading a good ol' book- and I agree on some level, but that's just me.  The shows I've been watching may not be particularly new or groundbreaking but I still would like to share my thoughts with y'all:

1. RuPaul's Drag Race

If you like OTT costume, make-up, and drama with a side of bitchiness, this is for you! I tend to avoid bitchiness as a general life rule anyway, so I think this is my outlet: watching others do it on screen ;) A drag queen competition in which the queens have to compete in a different task every week, anything from a photoshoot, to making their own perfume, and then ending in a cat walk- off and a lip sync battle. Its also amazing to see their drag transformation and how they use makeup- so impressive! Its  a really silly but ultimately fun show, with some of the best catty insults I've ever heard! 'Oh The SHADE!'

2. Orange Is The New Black

So I'm sure we're all aware of OITNB, but I recently finished it so there for it made the list! While I would recommend the show it's not one of my faves (this list is no particular order btw) I find so many annoying factors in it to truly love it. Its definitely a slow burner for me and was left feeling a indifferent to the ending of series 3. I find this show deceivingly dark at times and I like there is no real focus on one main character (lucky for me as I hate Piper). I also feel that each episode is soo long! But despite that, it is funny and the characters are all so interesting. I love talking about this one with all my gal pals.

3. Once Upon A Time

The narrative of this one is a little tricky to explain but basically if you like fairy tales, you'll get on with this. A woman discovers that all fairy tale characters are real and trapped by an evil curse in a town, with no memory of their fairy tale alias's.  The setting changes a lot and shows you flashbacks of all the fairy tale characters as well, its a bit of a fairy tale mashup so it feels like you're watching two different shows sometimes but it definitely keeps you interested and I'm always trying to guess what's going to happen next or which character is going to be which fairy tale character. One of my faves and as its a show that can go in any direction, it hasn't disappointed me yet!

4. Archer

An adult cartoon about spy's - I'm only a few episodes in but I'm really enjoying it. I think I'm the last one of my friends to start watching it (whatever) but it's funny and silly and a little bit rude and not very PC, but not offensive in the slightest. Again its too early to tell to give a fully rounded opinion, but will let you know how I get on :)

5. Homeland

Homeland is incredible! Like, I hear even Obama likes it! God writing and acting too. A CIA agent has to find out if a POW has been radicalised or not but there are just 1000 different levels to this show. I was however left devastated when season 3 ended and now I feel the show is going to go in a completely different direction which I'm not to sure about but I have faith.

So there was a little round up of all the shows I've been watching. I have a list as long as my arm of shows to watch and maybe re-watch and other shows that I love that sadly didn't make the list including: HIMYM, The OC, Dawson's Creek, 24 and of course Buffy (that would be a separate blog post).

Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if there is anything else I should be watching :) xx
